The industry’s highest accolades were presented at the 2019 Health Insurance and Protection Awards held at Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London in October. The black-tie gala dinner was attended by 850 guests and hosted by UK television personality Claudia Winkleman.
As one of only six brokers globally to be named finalists in the Best Adviser International Clients category, Managing Director of Global Albatross, Darren Manning says “we were ecstatic that we made the shortlist. The industry consists of massive global players with even bigger operational budgets. They are some of the most successful companies in the world with highly-skilled personnel, so it’s a real privilege being in the room with them.”
Winners are decided by a two-stage judging process. The panel of 10 judges comprises specialists from regulatory authorities, industry commentators, protection consultants and business leaders identified for their expertise, objectivity and experience.
Of the Best Adviser International Clients award, Manning says “we are a small team competing globally with big-name brokerages so are grateful to be recognised for our commitment to clients, whom it’s an honour to serve. We work hard to advocate for clients and negotiate with our insurance partners and medical facilities around the world every day, so this is great recognition for that service.”
The company was initially a finalist in two categories, including Best Adviser Customer Service, however a third shortlist nomination arose as the judges unexpectedly exercised their right to transfer Global Albatross into the Best Adviser to High Net Worth Individuals category.
This is the second time Global Albatross has been crowned at the awards. In 2017, after 18 months in business, the company won the coveted title of Best International Intermediary. Global Albatross also made the cut in two categories in 2018.
